Legal disclaimer

Please read this notice before relying on information published on this website or submitting an enquiry to Panayiotis G. Ioannou, Advocate and Legal Consultant.

1. General information and scope

The articles, legal updates, service descriptions and other materials on this website are provided for general information. They do not constitute a legal opinion or advice on any particular facts, transaction or dispute, and are not a substitute for advice based on a review of your circumstances and documents. Unless expressly stated otherwise, legal commentary concerns the Republic of Cyprus. References to other jurisdictions do not imply an entitlement to practise there.

2. Accuracy, sources and changes in law

Reasonable care is taken to research and prepare the materials and identify relevant sources. Legislation, case law and administrative practice can change. A publication or source-review date identifies when the material was prepared or checked; it is not a promise of continuous updating. Summaries are necessarily selective and may omit exceptions or procedural detail. Consult the applicable authoritative text and obtain current advice before taking or refraining from action. Please report a suspected error to ioannou@pgilegal.com.

3. Enquiries and acceptance of instructions

Browsing this website, submitting a form, sending an email or receiving an automated acknowledgement does not, by itself, establish a lawyer–client relationship or confirm acceptance of instructions. Acceptance is subject to the applicable conflict-of-interest and client-verification checks and agreement on the scope and terms of the engagement. Please obtain express confirmation that your matter has been accepted. This notice does not alter an existing engagement or any duties arising under applicable law.

4. Time limits and urgent matters

Do not use a website submission as the sole means of communicating an urgent matter. Sending an enquiry does not suspend a limitation period, filing deadline or other time limit. Unless responsibility for your matter has been accepted, do not assume that any deadline is being monitored or that action is being taken on your behalf. For an urgent enquiry, telephone +357 99463990 and obtain confirmation of availability and acceptance.

5. Confidentiality and electronic communications

Initially provide only your contact details and a brief, non-sensitive outline. Do not send confidential case documents, identity documents or sensitive personal information through the public enquiry or feedback forms. A suitable channel for further documents can be agreed after the initial assessment. Electronic communications and third-party form services cannot be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or entirely secure. This notice does not waive legal professional privilege or any confidentiality obligation that applies. Personal-data processing is explained separately in the Privacy notice and Cookie notice.

6. Translations and external sources

The English and Russian editions aim to convey the same information. Website translations and summaries of legislation are explanatory and are not official legal texts. If wording appears inconsistent, seek clarification before relying on it; the applicable authoritative legal text determines the law. External links are supplied for reference. Their inclusion does not mean that all content on the linked website is endorsed or continuously checked.

7. Outcomes and client feedback

Descriptions of services, any references to previous matters and any published client feedback do not guarantee a particular result, timescale or outcome. Each matter depends on its own facts, evidence and applicable law. Feedback is an individual account and should not be understood as a prediction of your experience.

8. Responsibility and rights preserved

This website is not a substitute for an agreed professional engagement. Nothing in this notice excludes or restricts liability, statutory rights, remedies, confidentiality obligations or professional duties that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Nor does it override obligations owed under an existing engagement. Any engagement-specific terms must be agreed separately and remain subject to applicable law and professional rules.
